Questions
Deposit questions
How much deposit do West Palm Beach developers require?
Published schedules are rare, but reported structures run from 20 percent to 50 percent of the price before closing in installments of about 10 percent each at contract, groundbreaking and topping out. The first 10 percent must stay in escrow under Florida law; the rest may fund construction if the contract says so.
Is my deposit refundable?
Within the 15-day statutory cancellation window, yes, in full. After that, refunds depend on the contract: typically if the developer misses the outside completion date and the contract allows cancellation, or if the developer violates the escrow statute, in which case deposits return with interest. A buyer's own default usually forfeits deposits up to 15 percent.
