About The Pillars Club and Residences

The city's project report lists 15 stories and 43 residences on the 2 lots at Birch Road and Sebastian Street. The application asks the City Commission for height above 120 feet. In April 2026 city staff found the submitted design taller than the 144-foot maximum the district allows, and asked for a reworked rooftop, more pedestrian-level renderings and garage screening that reads like occupied floors.

No unit mix, sizes or finishes have been published. The project name suggests a private club component; its details are not in the city record.

History

The Pillars Hotel at 111 North Birch Road and the Harlow N. Davock House at 109 were both identified as potential historic landmarks in a recent city architectural survey. The site also lies in an archaeologically significant zone, so the city requires a professional archaeological survey and photo documentation before demolition.
