The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Fort Lauderdale Beach location
Bayshore Drive is the Intracoastal edge of Central Beach, west of Birch Road and a few blocks from the ocean. The towers face west over the water toward the mainland and the downtown skyline, with ocean views from upper floors on the east side. Selene is about half a mile south, the Las Olas bridge a little farther, and the Ritz-Carlton hotel on the beach is to the southeast.

This lot has changed hands and names before. Earlier plans for the address carried the EDITION hotel brand and later the name Olakino House, and the city approved a building of this size in 2024 for a developer that did not proceed. Hoodline reported that Location Ventures pulled back and a partnership including MICL took over. Property records show 551 Bayshore SPE LLC paid $30 million for the 67,012 square foot site in September 2023.
